What Are Dreams Made of?

Dreams are made of stuffs such as spider webs, eggs, organic cells, precious gems and fireworks. These are the recurring images which crop up in Sunny Chyun's dreams.

Sunny Chyun is the 2017 UOB Painting of the Year (Singapore) Award Winner under the Established Artist Category. In her works on media like linen and canvas, she utilises materials and techniques such as acrylic, oil paint, marker pen, glow-in-the-dark thread, beading, digital print and embroidery.

The following is a sample of her works in a solo exhibition What Dreams Are Made Of organised by UOB Bank Limited.

Dyspraxia
2017 UOB Painting of the Year (Singapore)
Established Artist Category
"Dyspraxia explores the combination of elusive perceptions, memories and meanings. Sunny challenges pictorial conventions using the physicality of paint to resonate emotions. The use of Abstract Expressionism creates an imagery that symbolises the anarchic nature of the world that undermines all attempts at understanding it."
