If you were a dessert vendor, conventional wisdom would guide you to sell a variety of products so that your customers can pick and choose. And, if you sell cendol or chendol, you would be well aware that just about every other dessert stallholders would be selling it.
To digress for the benefit of our readers who are unacquainted with chendol, Wikipedia describes it like this:-
"Cendol /ˈtʃɛndɒl/ is an iced sweet dessert that contains droplets of pandan-flavoured green rice flour jelly, coconut milk and palm sugar syrup. It is commonly found in Southeast Asia and is popular in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, and Myanmar. Next to the green jelly, additional toppings might be added, including diced jackfruit, sweetened red azuki beans, or durian."
Old Amoy Chendol is a single-dish dessert stall which has been delighting its customers in Singapore.
