Have a Beary Good Christmas 2019!

Merchandisers are not holding back from letting you know that Christmas is nigh in November.

Better early than sorry, as you stock up and prepare for the most sung festive season, hands down.

 The turkeys have landed!

At the onset of Christmas 2019, I can't help but wonder, "What the deuce about bears?!" The bears are not only waking up from their hibernation but also out of the woods as they are literally ubiquitous to help us usher in the festivities.

Check this out:

Plan early for Christmas so that you would not feel left out in the cold while just about everyone else on the street, in orphanages, and old folks' home, are having  a party. You could easily get invited by your Christian friends and attend their Candlelight and/or Christmas services as you ponder the true meaning of Christmas.

Cheer yourself up this Christmas!
If you are shunning the limelight and prefer to have a quiet Christmas on your own, then I would strongly encourage you to pick up some choice books (bare necessities, if you will) from your community library and cuddle in for a good read with your favourite cuppa over Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. It's the next best thing to hibernation.

And, send us a greeting here at Daily Refreshing!

Have a Beary Good Christmas 2019!

Ditch Mindless Surfing

It is a sad state of affair to see people dumbing themselves by surfing the default browser homepage or YouTube channels in the hope of finding something that would perk them up.

This aimless use of time could be put to more productive and energising exchange if you know what you are looking for and focus on them.

So take charge of what you wanna draw out of the internet. Find your areas of interest, and bookmark the websites and channels which could advance your passion for the Top Ten things in your life.

As you feed on your pipeline of all the stuffs which work for you, you will be fanning and creating sparks in your area of interests. You will thus lead a more meaningful and fulfilling life as you build on your areas of interest instead of being a Jack of all distractions and Master of nothing in particular.

While the internet can complement other things such as social events, reading and sports as an antidote for boredom, you will find that your internet experience will be more enriching as you become intentional in what you are going to focus on.

Maybe you could consider cutting down on Facebook as well as you don't have to jolly well experience and kinda live out other people's life along with them, as well.

Your own life is great and you can make it greater for you and your loved ones as you grow your passion and refine your purposeful life.

Having a Bad Day?

The sky is blue, we all know that. Oh, how we love those sunny days with cotton-white clouds and wish that they would stay that way forever.

Alas, sometimes there are gray skies, but we won't wanna talk about it and silently pray that the rain would go away or someone would shelter us with an umbrella.

Listening to music could help.

Watch it till the end and you may catch a warm smile in your heart, if you have a modicum of penchant for romance.

Physical exercises like taking a walk, going for a swim and riding your trusty bicycle might also help to elevate your mood.

Chocolates may help, too, and you could well grab some at downright prices from a neighbourhood store and consume them in moderation.

While you are at it, you could pair your chocolates or your favourite comfort food with your go-to drink.

Enjoying your cuppa in a hot-air balloon?
According to one source, reading an interesting book according to your own taste by immersing your mind in it can help you relax as you focus and follow what you are reading. Go to the library or retrieve a palatable book from your shelve, and take a mental hike.

Chew on these:

“In the case of good books, the point is not to see how many of them you can get through, but rather how many can get through to you.” – Mortimer J. Adler

“Some books leave us free and some books make us free.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Oh, okay, maybe you are just tired. Then, get some beauty sleep, or go for a 20-minutes power nap by setting the alarm clock in your phone.

Thank you for reading Daily Refreshing. Hope this blog has perked you up in some way.

What is the Intrinsic Value of Bitcoin?

All investments carry risks in connection with the perceived value of rewards, which may not necessarily materialise according to your expectation and you may even end up with a loss.

Likewise, for cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin, which has survived the initial euphoria. It is best to invest only in what you know and understand.

The purpose of this blog post is for you to take a peek as to why Bitcoin may have an intrinsic value by understanding the basic tenets on the value of a product or commodity, and for you to gain a basic understanding on how digital currencies are mined or created, so that you are not intimidated by the advance of digital technology and their bags of jargons.

Strawless in Singapore?

When a person litters in Singapore, he is slapped (figuratively) with a punitive pecuniary fine, literally. This has worked well although there are still incidences of killer-litters (sad but true) of what-nots like bottles, furniture and TVs that are hurled down from apartments.

Then, there is the banning of chewing gums which has been a total success. The fight against cigarettes is still on as with the curtailing of motorised scooters.

Seemingly harmless stuffs like high sugar level in soft drinks (adverse for health) and drinking straws (eco-unfriendly) have not been spared.

Will the day come when disposable straws in Singapore will go the way of chewing gums?

We are inching a bit closer but might just see the light of day on the last straw if efforts are sustained with further built-up of momentums by all stakeholders.

P.S. Thank you for your support in reading and sharing Daily Refreshing.
