The Dream of Scarlet Avenue

AnyLock - Keeps Food Fresh

Innovation need not be super high technology. I think one of the simple but breakthrough idea was the introduction of the Post-it Notes.

According to Wikipedia: "A Post-it note (or sticky note) is a small piece of paper with a re-adherable strip of glue on its back, made for temporarily attaching notes to documents and other surfaces. A unique low-tack pressure-sensitive adhesive allows the notes to be easily attached, removed, and even re-posted elsewhere without leaving residue. Originally small yellow squares, Post-it notes and related products are now available in a wide range of colors, shapes, and sizes.

Though 3M's patent ran out in 1997, the term "Post-it" is not genericized.[citation needed] It and the original notes' distinctive yellow color remain registered company trademarks, with terms such as "repositionable notes" used for similar offerings manufactured by competitors."

Well, of late, we have AnyLock which is a portable plastic strip which can be used to 'zip-up' plastic packaging of snacks or foodstuffs. The simple but innovative idea is to fold the opened end of the packaging and then slide it under a plastic guide within the casing of AnyLock.

Before the advent of AnyLock, people have resorted to using rubber bands or clips to hold in the opened end of their packaging. On the surface, AnyLock does seem to provide a better sealing to keep the contents fresh. But, you never know till you try it out for yourself.

A Little Bird Told Me

When we know of a matter but do not wish to disclose the source, we would resort to saying, 'A little bird told me.' It is not just a rumor that we are hearing, but something which we have heard from what we would deem to be a reliable source.

And, what is the truth of the matter concerning this little bird of a spy drone from times past? I think we can pin-it to what is found the the Book of Ecclesiastes of the Holy Bible as follows:-

"Do not curse the king, even in your thought; Do not curse the rich, even in your bedroom; For a bird of the air may carry your voice, And a bird in flight may tell the matter." -- Ecclesiastes 10:20 (NKJV)

Many Bible scholars believe that it was King Solomon who wrote the book of Ecclesiastes by the inspiration of the Spirit of God. As a king, Solomon is well disposed to the issues of life faced by rulers and wealthy people. 

While birds would not be able to divulge secrets, not even carrier pigeons, the reference to 'a bird' is a convenient and self-explanatory metaphor for a spy or an insider.
